The Story Behind the Chapel

A Quiet Beginning The Chapel Along The Way didn’t start with a grand idea or a ministry plan. It began in the quiet places — the places where people hurt, hope, question, and try to make sense of their lives. It grew out of years spent sitting with people in hospital rooms, psychiatric units, memory‑care halls, hospice beds, and counseling spaces where life is stripped down to what matters most. In those rooms, I learned something simple and profound: People need a place where they can breathe. Not a place that demands. Not a place that pressures. A place that listens. A place that steadies. A place that feels safe enough to let the soul speak. That realization stayed with me. It followed me through decades of spiritual care, through conversations that were heavy and holy, through prayers whispered in the dark, through moments when someone said, “I just need somewhere to go.” Eventually, it became clear: That “somewhere” needed to exist.

The Chapel Along The Way

The Chapel Along The Way was established upon a singular, steadfast conviction: every person deserves access to a sacred space for reflection, prayer, and peace—offered freely, without judgment or expectation. Chaplain Mark founded this virtual sanctuary to serve individuals navigating transition, pursuing clarity, or seeking a reverent moment of connection with God.
